Are there many big fish held in the Marine
Adventure Park enclosures?
Yes, 300
fish between 1 – 2 meters long. The biggest
you will ever see around our shores
Are the fish dangerous, will they bite me?
No, none
of the fish held are dangerous nor will they
bite anybody.
What sort of fish are there for me to see?
The main
attractions are the Bluefin Tuna &
Barracuda. Others may be included in due
time, turning our marine attraction into
offshore floating seaquariums.
When I am snorkelling, will the fish be
swimming close to me?
Yes
pretty close, the closest you will ever be
near these types of fish.
What do I need to have to be able to see
these fish?
A mask
and a snorkel is all you need, a set will be
provided for you on site should you come
without them.
Can I feed the fish?
You can,
but fish feeding will be under strict
control.
How can I get to the park?
You
certainly need a boat to get you to the
floating sea aquariums. We are organizing
boat trips on a regular bases according to
the demand.
Where can I purchase the Marine Adventure
Park Tickets?
You can
purchase the Marine Adventure Park tickets
from:-
-
All
leading dive centres in Malta, Comino &
Gozo,
-
All
water sports outlets based in the
north part of Malta & Gozo
-
If
you don’t have the tickets already at
hand when you happen to come than you
can also purchase these on site from the
Marine Adventure Park Staff.
How long can I stay snorkelling with the
fish?
Approximately half an hour whereby you are
guaranteed to see the fish pretty much all
the time during your stay.
How big are the enclosures?
The enclosure measure 50 meter diameter and
have a depth of 35 meters.
What happens to the fish, will they be
killed when Marine Adventure
Park stops
operating during the winter season?
No. Marine Adventure Park will keep the fish
alive over the winter so that the attraction
can be launched again for the next summer.
However it is our intention for some of the
fish to be tagged and released back to the
open sea. Some even with satellite tagging
system in order to provide important data
towards sustainable fisheries policies.
Do you go & catch the fish yourselves?
No. We do
not go and catch the fish, but we buy fish
from the fishermen who otherwise would have
sent his catch to the fish market. Instead
we try and keep the few ones we decide to
take from the fisherman alive and hold them
as star attractions. It’s important to
mention that Marine Adventure Park will not
keep fish or marine animals that are
protected by law. We also keep those fish
which can co- exist with others, in a
similar manner to what one sees in the big
marine aquariums found in major European
cities.
What are your opening and closing times?
To
visit Marine Adventure Park one needs to
pre-book his visit and join an organized
boat trip out with us. We are
hoping
that the trips will be on a regular bases
and operate mainly in the afternoons but
this depends also on
having
a sufficient number to make a small group of
at least 12 people. Booking can be done by
telephone on
99477284 by SMS or by e-mail:
info@marineadventurepark.com or
marine@maltanet.net
Can I just turn up at Marine Adventure Park?
No,
for the time being until Marine Adventure
Park gets more popular one need to pre-book
his visit. We pick
up
people from the Sirens Jetty next to the
Gillieru Hotel St Paul's Pay. Organized
trips for groups of 15 people
could
also depart from Mgarr Harbour. For this
trip please contact Mark Busuttil on
99829733 or St Andrew's
Divers
Cove on 21551301.
Can we come with our own boat?
Yes,
but this will be by appointment as you
still need to inform us so that we
can fix a day and time to
accommodate your visit. You will most
probably need to come accompanied by one
of our organized boat trips.
What do you guarantee?
We
guarantee to offer you a safe adventure out
at sea, a unique experience, and one which
you will never forget.
